No more then 5 mins ago, I went out to walk to the store, a walk that I would have taken with Shandy. As I came around the corner I looked up and there was the largest most colourful rainbow I have ever seen in my life. I have not seen a rainbow in quite sometime, I can't remember the last time I have seen one, let alone one with such brilliant colours and defined ends. I thought to myself, could this be it, could this be a sign that my girl, that all of our friends were ok? I don't know, that is the hard part. I would like to know, I need to know.

Hi Kerry
What a lovely gift you got today! biggrin.gif
While I'm not sure I can give you a definite answer to your question, my instinct says yes. I don't think things like that are coincidental. I think it was Shandy's way of telling you that she's okay...she's over the Rainbow Bridge! She's running free...free of all pain and age. She's watching over you and sent you a message to comfort you.
I had waited weeks for a sign from Jasmine. I was getting pretty upset when none came. Then, I got two on two separate occasions. The first one was subtle...a thing of nature like your rainbow. There was a small cluster of dandelions growing where Jasmine like to stand in the back yard, near these evergreen trees/bushes. They were all alone, which isn't common for dandelions. Being weeds, they tend to spread fast and take over an area. But these few were the only ones. I felt it was Jazzy's way of sending me something beautiful to tell me she was at peace.
Another time, I was sobbing in the back yard...and I whispered to her "please send me a sign because I miss you so much". A moment later, a mourning dove landed on the grape vine holder. I knew it was her. I talked to her and then when I said "fly free baby", it took off. Mourning doves have always visited me when someone close died, including my childhood dog years ago. So I KNEW.
I haven't received any more, but if I never do, I'll always be grateful. Shandy is with you and I'm sure she'll send you something else when the pain isn't so raw.
Hold onto that memory of the beautiful rainbow...it reflects her beautiful life. wub.gif

Hi, Kerry-

I definitely think it's a sign! Shiloh sends me signs every now and then...I never question if it's a sign or not, I just thank her for sending it.

I think that Shandy is thinking about you and wants you to know she's okay. wub.gif

Kerry- I am sure that Shandy is looking down on you and telling you that she is okay...free from pain and suffering...running and jumping. She knows you miss her terribly, and she misses you too. She wants you to remember all of the wonderful times you had together and not to be sad for her. What a wonderful mommy you were to her...

Take care of yourself, Caroline

Dear Kerry,

I definitely believe that the rainbow was a sign from Shandy. A couple of days after Allie died I was struggling with the question, "where did she go?" as we all do when our pets leave us. And I was driving in the car and there was a beautiful rainbow, and something just told me it was a sign from Allie. When I arrived where I was going I asked others if they had seen it and they hadn't. Maybe it was a special one just for me wink.gif

I believe that rainbows are definitely signs from God. Consider the story of Noah:

"Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him: "I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth. I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.

And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind."

Love,
Jenny

It is a sign. I believe that they become part of the light, but that part of them stays with us. Our animals don't want to see us hurting, so Shandy is telling you that she is okay.

Oh my, what a beautiful gift from God!

I'm with the others. I definitely think it was Shandy's way of saying, "Don't cry and worry Mom. I'm in the most beautiful, wonderful place you could imagine and I know that one day you'll be here with me, too!"

Savor that image. It's yours forever!
