I've been searching far and wide on the internet for any sort of group session I could attend here in the Boston area...but can't find any. I've searched so many sites on the net, plus I just went and searched the other areas of this site. The only thing I've ever found was individual counselors. I would love a support group though....sorta like AA.
Does anyone know of any groups in the Boston area or a place where I could look one up? I live just north of Boston.
Thanks.

Audrey

PS. Just to let everyone know...I'm not trying to replace you guys or imply I'm not being helped here. OMG I don't know how I would have made it through the past week without this place! I was just thinking it would be nice to see people and maybe even make some new dog parent friends. Bailey seems like he could use a dog friend.

Dear Audrey:

I am so sorry for the loss of your precious, beautiful Jazzy. Also, I want to apologize for not writing you a note before this time, passing along my condolences.....

I was sick and was put on wicked strong antibiotics which knocked me out....... I was in bed for just about 2 weeks,
and I just couldn't put the computer on. I was miserable. Enough about me..........

I saw the photo of Jazzy and Bailey......... Jazzy was extraordinarily beautiful wub.gif . Always know that she will FOREVER be in your heart!!!!!
Thank God for memories.......

I believe that you lovingly called Bailey wub.gif a "goofball", in your post that had the gorgeous photo, where they
were both posing. He's the most HANDSOME goofball furdog that I've ever seen!!! biggrin.gif What a lovely breed.

The memories of Jasmine that you've built over the years.....You will ALWAYS HAVE THEM...... No-one can ever take them away from you!!!!!

We live near the Boston area too. We're approximately 8 miles West of Boston.

Unfortunately, I have never heard of any pet loss support groups in or around the Boston area... You might have some luck by calling the Angell Memorial Hospital in Boston......

Either that, or the ASPCA, right near Angell Memorial Hospital might know if there are any pet loss support groups.

If you can't find any groups, maybe you could start one of your own.... You could put a sign up in your vet's office, for people who have lost their precious furkids.....
It's something to think about....

Please take care of yourself & know that we will always be here for you, when/if you need us...

Love, Denise

Hello Denise.
Thank you for your lovely post. wub.gif And please don't feel bad for not posting sooner...my goodness it sounds like you were having a tough time yourself! I'm glad you're better. smile.gif
Thank you for the compliments. I hope I don't sound selfish but yes, I really do think they are beautiful dogs. I just love the breed. Mine weren't show quality but they certainly are/were gorgeous. Yes, I lovingly call Bailey a goofball. LOL He is a handsome boy..but he's also a bull in a china shop. LOL Just picture him going "which way did he go, George?" LOL He's such a follower...and he followed Jasmine everywhere. Thank God he didnt' learn too many of her bad habits! Even when he walks/runs, he can't stop in time and always winds up sliding to where he meant to go. Thank God I have him still is all I can say. smile.gif
I did find the site for Angell Memorial. They have a hotline, as does Tufts Vet School. It's really too bad there's no groups...I think a LOT of people would participate. I guess it is something to think about starting up.
Anyway, thanks again for your post!!

call around to your local area vets too. around here, pet loss support is often offered by area churches (unitarian, for example).

Thank you! I have a vet appt in 2 weeks for Bailey's annual checkup. I already told the receptionist I wanted to talk to the vet about what happened to Jasmine. I'll ask them if they know of any groups.
Steph
Did you have any luck?
Jazzygirl
I haven't had a chance to call around to churches. My vet appt is in 2 weeks so I definitely ask then.
I've been so busy this week plus on top of it all I got food poisoning last night and had to take a sick day today! I'm feeling "better" but still have those sharp pains. Ugh.
