QorquisDad

Several folks have commented about Qorqui's looks in the photo. I don't know if you all can see it or not, I do because she did it all the time, but it's the way she's leaning forward. She did it every time she saw me, if she didn't jump up and run to me. If she was sitting or standing somewhere and I walked into sight, she'd do that lean. Like she was saying "Hurry up and invite me over there!" or something. It's one of the things I miss the most about her. She's the only dog I've known that leaned so far like that. There was no question in my mind that she really liked having me around.
Last night my wife was digging through some home video tapes looking for a blank one and ran across a bunch of random stuff our youngest son recoreded. On there was about fifteen minutes of him and his friend playing with Qorqui that we didn't even know he had taped. It's the only video we have of her. I had a whole new mixture of emotions I didn't know could be combined. I was thrilled and totally happy that she had found this and that I got to see Qorqui "in action" again, but at the same time I missed her soooo much that the tears made it so hard to watch the video that we had to keep backing it up so I could see the parts I missed.
For anyone that's wondering, my wife is three weeks sober now and showing REAL signs that she's gonna do it this time!!

Tim -
Now that you mention it, you can see how Qorqui is leaning forward in your avatar pic. That's so cute and something you'll never forget. How nice that your son had videotaped Qorqui playing. Hopefully, in time you'll be able to watch that video without so many tears. I can't watch any videos of Rusty yet and it's been nearly 4 months.
When we'd sit on the floor next to Rusty and not pet him right away (which was very hard to do), if his back was toward us, he'd turn his head around and look as if to say, "OK, pet me already!" My husband still talks about the way Rusty would do that.
Great news about your wife. I hope this is a turning point for her and your whole family.
Thinking of you,
Lynn

Tim I just thought Qorqui was running when I saw her picture like that. Maybe it is hard to watch the video now but I bet someday you will treasure it so much. I am so glad for your wife and thrilled to hear she has been that long without a drink. Some people might not think it is very long but it is for someone who drinks a lot.

Tim, that's just awesome! I'm glad she came across that video and that you have something to go back to whenever you need to see her romping around.
Congratulations to Mrs. Tim. Three weeks is quite an accomplishment and I also hope she continues her difficult battle and puts her disease behind her. She's making Qorqui very, very proud of her mommy!
Right from the beginning I felt that your precious little fur angel had a mission and she just proved what it was. She's overjoyed that your wife got her message and that her passing wasn't in vane. Well done, Mrs. Tim!!!
Hugs,
Pat
