Solo, my new tiny little furbaby, is ready to come home tomorrow.... took her long enough to be weaned!

Although I'm totally thrilled that she's finally coming, I'm sad at the same time. Solo is also a black kitten... although she looks nothing like Inky, I'm sort of feeling like it will be just like him. Hopefully I'm not putting too much pressure on this little lady to fill some big paws (although nothing would be able to do that).

Since I can't seem to get an avatar working, I'm attaching a picture of my beautiful Inky. Forgive me if it comes out too big, but I'm just lucky to get it up here no matter what size it comes out in! biggrin.gif

I love you and miss you, booboo kitty.

Inky was a very beautiful cat. It is really great you are bringing a new baby into your life. The baby will never be inky, but will capture your heart in many ways, and will be very special too.

When I lost my abyssinian cat Tommy I went to a breeder 2 months later and brought home a ruddy abyssinian named Dion. He is a great joy in my life. Since I lost Bubba I have been looking for a little baby kitty but I guess the time is not right yet..

I know our special fur children that have passed on want us to continue to love and nuture the living. Sometimes I think they have a hand in our choices.

Bless you and your little kitten!!!

The picture was not to big at all and what a doll Inky was. I wish you all the best with your new kitten Solo. Just don't expect to much to soon. I remember when we took care of our childrens' kitties. They tore down the drapes, scratched up the walls and things like that. They all turned out to be so wonderful except Cinny still digs the walls up and sometimes he digs on the carpets. I hope you find a lot of joy for years to come with your precious new baby.

Inky is a sweetie. He could never be replaced none of our furbabies could, they have different personalities. It will be a new love a new personality, a new relationship you will have. I am so happy you are getting a new addition to your family. Pamela

Thank you all for complimenting Inky... I'm partial, but he WAS beautiful, both in looks, spirit and personality. God do I miss that little fella.

Solo arrives this evening and going straight to the vet for her tests. Hopefully, Taz and Smidge will welcome her to our family and there won't be too much trouble. Smidge is the one that worries me about having her in the house and the vet shares my concern... so much to the point that tonight we're starting him on Prozac. Maybe a few "happy pills" are just what he needs to chill out. My other two boys have been trying to kill each other since the Alpha Cat is no longer around to keep the peace.

Well, I'll let you all know how this works out. I'll be taking the remainder of the week off from work to make sure nobody kills each other for a few days. Wish me luck!!!

Hugs,

Pat

That is so great about adopting a new baby. We took the plunge today and adopted a stray lab/pointer mix today. We bring him home on Friday, after he is neutered. We lost Lucy one day before you lost Inky. It is a hard decision to get a new pet, but somehow, I think Lucy would have approved. I am sure that Inky would have too. Take care and good luck!

All,

Thanks for all the kind words of support. The baby came home on Tuesday and, LORD did I ever forget what kittenhood was all about. Smidge, who is 10, seems to have taken to her well. On the other hand, we have Taz who is 13 and Inky was his absolute best buddy. He's not at all impressed and, actually, I'm quite nervous he may eventually try to hurt her.

I've asked Inky to lend a paw in making this work, so I'm sure he'll come through for me... he always does!

Here's the new little devil.

Aw-w-w-w, what a little sweetheart. May you have long and loving lives together. Her name might be solo, but her life will not be with her loving new family.

Denise & everyone, thanks for you kind words and compliments of Inky and Solo.

Denise, you have no idea how much of a paw Inky had in making sure we had a little black furbaby. When he really began to go down hill, my husband's friend had a pregnant cat, Meow. He asked Meow to give him a black kitten, but his friend said in 7 litters, she's never had a black one. Well, evidently that's just what she had. The BEST part is that Solo was the ONLY kitten born!! (Hence, the name).

We had to put both Smidge & Taz on Prozac for a while because there has been nothing but drama for the last 7 weeks. Taz misses Inky and wants to kick the poop out of everybody. So, thanks to Prozac, it seems we have a harmonious household. I'm just hoping it keeps up when we stop the medication!!

Inky always came through to help and he continues to. God how I miss my sweetheart.

Hugs,
Pat
