My Christmas Wish
Tonight the world is busy, rushing to get done
Making sure they've filled their lists
and have gifts for everyone
I find myself alone tonight, thinking of the past
My shopping is done, our Christmas is ready
A moment for me, at last
Wishing for my youth again, and the magic Christmas brings
When Santa Claus was sure to come
and bring me precious things
I'm grown up now, knowing it's not true
But if I could still make a wish,
you know I'd wish for you
If I asked, despite my age, what could Santa say?
He'd have to tell, "He can't come back"
"I'm sorry, there's no way"
But wait! I know! There's something else to do
There's someone else to call and ask
Someone close to you
My Christmas wish is different now, and it is what I pray
That God will hold you close to him,
on this, our Christmas Day
