I just wanted to thank all of you that wrote to me and gave me your kind thoughts and your words of encouragement. It has made the pain in my life a little easier to deal with now that I know I have somewhere to go when I start feeling sad that I don't have my Jameel anymore.

Thank you all for accepting this cow girl into your home page. I know there aren't a whole lot of postings here for horses but you all have made me feel so welcome. I will be forever grateful to all of you.

Thanks Again,

My thoughts are with you.

I've been blessed to have many horses in my life. They're amazing, aren't they?

With love,

Kate

Horses are very special!!! There are so many animals that have so much to teach us. How honored and special we all are to have had such wonderful animal spirits in our lives! We all have been very blessed.

Hi Danni, This site with all the wonderful people has been a blessing for me too. We have a lot of caring compassionate people here. No matter what baby we have lost the pain is still terrible. We are all left with broken hearts and tear filled eyes. We all know the horrific pain and sorrow that follows the death of our precious babies.

Dear Danni,

I didn't get to respond to your original post, so I wanted to say that I'm so sorry for your loss of Jameel.

Horses are such wonderful animals. I grew up with several horses, and all have special places in my heart.

You're in my thoughts.

Dear Danni,

I've never "known" any horses in my life but I think they're beautiful animals. So sorry for the loss of your beloved Jameel.

Thinking of you.

Danni...Sorry I did not respond earlier. But after I read you post, I wnet home and saddled up and everyone got an extra carrot. I have 4 horses, two mules and a burro. They are all loved, just as my other critters! I cannot imagine losing one of them, although I know it is inevitable. The special bonds between a horse and a person are hard to explain. To me, it is different that the cat and dog bonds, not more or less special, just different. There is such unconditional love from the cats and dogs (well dogs at least!)...they look at us and are so full of awe and admiration and purelove. With my equines, the love comes from the trust I feel these animals have given me, the partnership. I imagine this prey animal, for all intensive purposes, and see how very special it can be when we can crawl up on them and go enjoy life together. I find this especially true for our mustang. Anyhow...I am sure I will be visiting this wonerful site when the time comes to say goodbye to one of them. The people here are so wonderful, the world is abetter place for them .Welcome and know I feel so very deeply for your loss. Martina

I am very sorry for your loss. I too have had one heck of a week. today is an okay day for me, I wish you a good one sometime very soon. Our companions are so very important to us and have a very important role in our daily lives. I'm sure Jameel was a beautiful horse and will be loved and missed for a very long time. I hope you feel better soon.

Danni-

I am so sorry for the loss of Jameel. Companion animals are companion animals...it doesn't matter the size, breed or shape. Jameel was you companion, and it is incredibly difficult to lose such a big presence in your life. I lost my dog Lucy 3 weeks ago. It is one of the hardest things I have ever had to deal with. It is nice to have somewhere to come when I want to "talk" about and remember Lucy. It does seem like she lives on in a way through this website. Take care...

I honestly wish that I had found this site almost two years ago. My cat, Razzamataz, had to be put down because of lymphoma. I was devasted and didn't really have anyone to talk to. Since Jameel has been gone, I have visited this site everyday. Somestimes three or four times. I know that when I get up in the morning, such as today, and I'm feeling sad and lonely and missing Jameel, I can come here. I know that I probably will cry, I may laugh, but above all, I feel that there are people here who truly care and know the struggle I am going through. And....I always feel better when I leave.

Thank you all!!

Oh, Horses, I love them, I had one growing up she was the most gentle thing I had ever owned, we lived on a lake and I took her swimming with me, I needed nothing but a harness to guide her. I do know horses from very very strong friendships they are unique for sure. How hard it is to lose them...just like any friend that you love. I am so sorry. Pamela N

I am sorry about Jameel! I have never been lucky enough to have a horse, but I used to ride alot when I was in college. I was very close to my little Arabian I used to ride and I got very attached to her.

I don't think it matters what kind of an animal it is - we all feel that same sense of loss. I lost my dog Sasha three weeks ago to cancer and it has been a very hard three weeks for me. Just when I think I am feeling better something happens which makes me miss her all over again. I know it is not easy and I am sorry for your pain. I know you had a special bond with Jameel.

Take care of yourself!

danni, i, too, am glad that you found this site. it has been a huge help for me and i hope it helps you too. as others have said, it doesn't matter what type of animal you have, us humans tend to get so attached to them (and them to us). it's just so hard to let go. i never imagined that i would feel so much pain ever in my life, this is the first real loss in my life. i'm sorry that you lost jameel, please post a picture if you have any. it's so funny, jameel was born in the same month and year as i was! anyway, i hope you are feeling better, ah
