I cannot believe it has been 14 weeks today since our little fur grandbaby Chili Bean left this world. She was always so bright eyed and full of fun always wanting to run and play. Before she got asthma she could run like the wind on those tiny legs. Before she had to take the steroids for her asthma she was 6 pounds of pure energy.
Chili Bean was always taking toys and food away from Snookie. After she ate the food she would sit there with a grin on her face. They were so close in age and grew up together so they were best friends. Where one was there the other would be.
My son always told his dog she was a psychopath. Chili Bean would grin and sneer about it, she loved it when he would tell her that. I guess she had a warped sense of humor. How I would laugh when she sneered like that. It filled me with great joy.
Up until the time she became so ill we had her at our house every 12 days and our son kept her every 12 days. But the last 9 months of Chili Bean's life she lived with us full time. Our son was fearful he could not give her the medications like we could. He said he loved her too much to let anything happen to her. So from then on we kept her and he came and saw her often.
Chili Bean was a joy and a delight. She wanted to sit on our laps and be with us all the time. Chihuahua's are the needy type who want attention all the time. The only problem was she was sometimes jealous of Snookie and would growl at her. 16 pound Snookie would come running to me to save her from a 6 pounds girl and I would baby Snookie like crazy. Snookie was to sweet to hurt anything or anyone.
We never knew Chili Bean had cancer until it hit the nerve in her face. Our hearts died when we lost Chili Bean and then our beloved Snookie so close together. Last week my husband said that maybe Chili Bean went first so Snookie didn't have to be alone. We miss and love them both so very much. They were both wonderful, sweet, and loving girls.

I wanted to add a picture of the sneer Chili Bean always did when anyone said she was a psychopath. She would tilt that head up and would make a face and then sneer like that everytime. It just made me laugh until I cried, I loved it and thought it was so cute.

Oh Ann...what a wonderful picture of Chili Bean! Her little sneer made me laugh...what a sense of humor she had. I can't believe it's been 14 weeks since you lost her, it feels like yesterday that I read your first heartbreaking post.
Although it's a terrible thing that you lost your babies so close together, it's a nice thought that they have eachother at the bridge. Chili Bean meeting Snookie as she crossed must have made her journey a happy one.
Hope you are feeling 100% better Ann, thinking of you.

Hi Kristie, Chili Bean did have a wonderful sense of humor. She kept me laughing all the time, she really was a doll. I am a lot better but all of the infection has not left my body. The doctor said he thinks I need about 10 more days of pills since I let myself get so sick. I wondered if I was going to die but I'm on the mend now. Thanks.

So glad you are feeling better.
And I love the pics and stories about Chili Bean. She sounds like she was
quite a little character.
I am so sad you had to lose 2 babies so close to each other. Double the pain and sorrow.
Please know I am thinking about you.
Hugs,

Dear Ann,
14 weeks since you lost your precious Chili Bean and Snookie not long afterward. It seems like an eternity, doesn't it? Rusty's been gone 10 weeks and to me it seems like forever since I've seen him and pet his beautiful fur. There's still such an emptiness in our house, even with our other pets here. I think that empty feeling will stay for awhile, possibly forever.
That sneer of Chili Bean's was so funny.

I'm glad you're on the mend. Take care of yourself.
Thinking of you and Clair.

What an adorable photo of ChiliBean

I'm sure she was a riot to have around.
Falkor does a "grin" himself. He used to constantly tease Luba. He'd yank on her leash, take her toys, anything to get her going. She'd pretend to be ticked off, but they'd end up playing.
I'm really sorry that you lost both of them so soon after each other.

Dear Ann,
It's hard to believe that Chili Bean has been gone for 14 weeks. I know with Shiloh, sometimes it seems like just yesterday that she and I were laughing and playing, and then sometimes it seems like an eternity.
I love the picture of Chili Bean's little sneer. I can see why you'd laugh till you cried.
Love,
Kathleen
PS - I'm so glad to see your name back on the boards. I hope you're feeling better and well on the road to recovery.

Dear Ann,
What great pictures of Chili Bean. I love the sneer. She was quite a character. Snookie too.
I am glad you are on the mend. I am sure losing two babies took alot out of you.
Thanks for sharing the photos.

wow ann, 14 weeks. It is so profound to me sometimes how life just keeps going on and on...no matter what. I think animals form strong bonds, I was shocked to see those ducks mourning over the one that dog got, I stood there and watched as they ran to her squaking wierdly.
I love the snear, and I bet they felt so loved.
I remember Chili's death caught you by complete surprise, I think it was extra hard for you because you had been trying to prepare for Snook's death and you had to go through that. You had the double whammy, losing one suddenly and one slowly, I am getting to a place where my memories do not hurt as much and I'm starting to find Joy in them. It is still hard to be to not have the daily presence. Love Pamela

Thanks for the kind words and I am glad everyone liked the picture of Chili Bean's sneer. My whole familly used to laugh so hard when she would do it. Maybe she thought being a psychopath was some kind of treat or something. She knew for sure that laughter and hugs followed after she did it. I just had to share that picture that caused so much laughter in our home.
We miss Chili Bean and Snookie everyday. Even though we have the breaking hearts from our loss, we feel so blessed we had them both for 10 years. Our darling Snookie made it to almost 11 years old. Still I wanted more time to hold, hug, play with, and kiss them, and take them places with me. Yet we give God thanks for the years of blessings, love, loyalty, fun, and laughter.

Dear Ann H,
It is so good to hear vthat you have made it through the worst of your illness and are on your way to recovery and seem to be feeling better.
Loved the pictures!LOL! That's the cutest little Psycopath! If Psychopaths looked that cute I wouldn't mind running into one.LOL! Love it!
It's hard hey Ann? Your message was very touching - brought tears and smiles to my face.
Your husband seems to be quite an insightful man as are you too.
In your message you wrote:*"Even though we have the breaking hearts from our loss, we feel so blessed we had them both for 10 years."*
Thanks AnnH.You are so right.I should feel blesssed that I had Bijou for so long instead of concentrating so much on my heartache. Thank you so much for writing your message.

Ann,
I love Chili Bean's sneer! What a little character! Our furbabies all have their own very distinct characters don't they, and Chili Bean does look like she had a real sense of humour! As the others said, it must have been hard losing the 2 of them so close. Glad to see you are feeling a little better.
Love,
Elsie
