Oh my so much cruel death I have seen today. First of all I was in my drive way, there are 3 ducks that live at a house up the street 3 houses. Along this house is a trail that runs through the city. People walk their dogs on this pathway, alot do not keep their dog on a leash, well I seen this kid calling for his dog and here it comes out from the side of the house with the female duck in it's mouth, the kid ran over and leashed the dog and left. So I grabbed the cage and went running over and got the people and by the time we got her in the cage she was dead, the 2 male ducks were just so upset you could tell they were mourning by the sound of them.
Well, as if that wasn't enough, I had went to visit that friend with the daughter, boyfriend and ##erspanial (Claydon) I had mentioned Claydon before, that he needed to find a home, I couldn't take him but I would look for a home....so anyway I found a good home, a lady in her mid fifties who lived in a retirement community where their dogs have the run of the building and are loved....so I called excited, and the girl said she did'nt want to give him away anymore...because he bites...(whatever) so nothing more was said. I went to visit the mother today and the daughter whom is 9 months pg. with a special needs baby, she was just yelling the whole time at this dog, no one could understand why she wouldn't let him go to a home, she had many offers.
I just finished having a cry over My Moose and I called my friend. Apparently Claydon bit the girl so the boyfriend killed him. I am just sick to my stomach...and she is having a baby..oh lord. I am going to turn her in before I move from this town, there is supposed to be a baby shower this Sunday for the girl.......I will not be going and dot want anything to do with someone who would have anypart in something like that...just makes me sick to my stomach. Oh Pamela I just read this post and it made me so sick and I despise people who would hurt any living thing like that. The man should be put away for killing that little dog Claydon. He would have made someone a nice dog and they must have did something to him to make him bite. ##ers are usually such easy going lovely little dogs. That is so sad about the ducks too and the crummy kid who did not even care if they lived or died. There are so many horrible people in this world and they call themselves human beings. They are nothing but evil wicked people who would harm an amimal. I wish they would put people away for a long time and even throw away the key. I wonder how he killed little Claydon the same should be done to him.

My husband and I would take walks in the Spring & Summer in different towns - (that are considered wealthy), and we'd
see soooo many Canadian Geese strolling around, and ducks with their young -----

We used to find it a riot to see the traffic stopping, so that they could cross the street to get into the Reservoir again. It was A LOT OF FUN!!!

But, sometimes we'd get there in the early afternoon, only to find out that PEOPLE MUST'VE BEEN IN A RUSH........
AND, THEY DIDN'T WAIT AROUND FOR GOD'S BEAUTIFUL CREATURES TO CROSS THE ROAD!!!!!!

The news has been sickening of late, you guys...........and, I feel that I NEED TO WATCH IT BECAUSE,
"THIS IS WHAT'S GOING ON IN REAL LIFE!!!!!!

When I hear of children being hurt/raped/murdered..........and, the same thing happening to women------
These horrible, horrific things ARE NOT ALWAYS CARRIED OUT BY MEN; but, mostly they are.....

THESE MONSTERS DESERVE THE SAME TREATMENT, ONLY 100 TIMES WORSE!!!!

I PERSONALLY WOULD NOT.......IN THE LEAST..... FEEL "BADLY, AT ALL!!!!"!!

Then IT'S JAIL, FOR THE REST OF THEIR ROTTEN LIVES!!!!

Pamela ... what two ghastly experiences. Some days just floor you when you see how some people can act around animals, don't they? That poor little Claydon, and to think he could have had a nice quiet peaceful home if she had allowed him to go to the lovely home you had found for him.

You did your best for him, nobody could have done more, but I know how you must be feeling. We are all so much more sensitive to the death, especially the unnecessary and senseless death, of an animal when we ourselves have just lost a beloved furbaby. We would do anything to bring our babies back and then there are people who think nothing of ending an animals life rather than let it go to a more suitable home, or treating it more kindly. I just hope it was quick and that he didn't suffer too much fear and terror.

Bless the poor little duck too, what a horrible sight to witness and hear. Life can be so cruel sometimes ... my thoughts are with you Pamela.

What an awful experience for you.
Here we all are, grieving the loss of our babies and others can treat an animal so cruelly!
I am appalled! They could have easliy given poor little Claydon to a shelter or to one of the many homes that offered
to take him.
I fear that this couple's disrespect for life will be passed onto their child.
All we can do is pray for them. (Can't help wondering if the biting Claydon did was becasue of mistreatment rather then poor behavior)
So sorry you had all this too deal with on top of grieveing for Moose.

i agree that something needs to be done about the beast that killed clayton. do you know what the animal abuse laws are in your area? it makes me so mad when i hear these things. how can people be so cruel. and there are so many studies that show people who abuse animals are so much more likely to abuse people. i fear for that baby, and for the women who in her ignorance, stays with an abusive man!

Pamela, I just had to respond to this post one more time as it brought feelings of my early childhood back to me. I had a terrible night and could only think about Claydon and the terrible fate he suffered at the hands of a evil lunatic.

I could picture Claydon's little eyes so wide with fear and feel the terror and pain that he felt as the creep laid blow after blow on his little body, or perhaps he stabbed Claydon to death. However he did it there must have been a lot of suffering, terror and pain for little Claydon. Perhaps he went out trying to bite the monster that killed him or maybe he cowered and screamed and whined as each blow was struck that ended his precious life.

Here we all are on LS in pain and just wanting to be able to kiss and hold and hug our babies one more time. Wanting just one more time to look into the their eyes and see the love deep inside their souls and feel their love so pure and so freely given. What I wouldn't give to feel my Snookie with her head on my neck just one more time or to feel the weight of her big beautiful 16 pound body resting in my lap.

Now precious Claydon will never know the joy of being loved and treasured more than anything upon the face of the earth. He will never know loving arms, a soft lap, a warm bed, walks, toys and games and playing with children and soft tender words of love.

Everytime I read of some cruel monster who claims to be a human being it just brings back all the things I suffered as a child until I was rescued. How do we know when this baby is born that he or she wont suffer unspeakable horror at the hands of this evil monster. He needs to be put away.

Oh Pamela, I can't even imagine how that must make you feel!
Two such wrongful deaths on innocent and misunderstood furbabies. It just rips my heart apart. Like Ann, I keep thinking of the terrible images of these babies being killed. First, a helpless duck, finding himself in the jaws of a dog, that should have been leashed and better trained. We have someone near us that has a huge pond. Ducks gather there and over the years more and more have called it home. Unfortunately, I have seen some that wandered too close to the road and got hit. I have trained myself to drive past there now without looking that way.

Then to picture what poor Claydon must have felt! Dogs that bite, have usually been trained to, had fear put in them and abused, were not taught social skills at a young age, or have had NO training. Poor Claydon needed a good home where he could have learned love and security. Instead, some person who misunderstood his needs took his life! My gosh, when someone else was willing to give him a home, how could he do that?

I, too, am concerned about the baby. This person must have an anger issue and tendency towards violence. How horrifying to live with!!!!

I am just trying to tell myself that poor Claydon is now away from all the abuse and screaming he endured. This just makes me ill

I called the animal control people this morning, I gave the address and told them what I knew, it is the least I can do for that poor guy. Yes, he was caged in a little cage he could hardly move in all day, then when he jumped and played the sat on their butts and just yelled, there was nothing wrong with the dog, it was them. The animal control officer will be stopping by there today to follow up on my complaint. Seems to be a different spirt upon the world now with the cruelty,,,upon the weakest, children and pets....and it is so right ,,,here we are mourning our beloved pets to know someone is doing this cruelty just makes us sick. I am SO happy to hear that you reported him!!! If more people would get involved, maybe more people that abuse helpless animals would start paying a price for that. Too many people just look the other way because they don't want to get involved. I know many others here have stated this, but I also wish I could fund a home for these poor furbabies that need to be rescued.

I know in my own experience, I had trouble dealing with the women that work at my local humane society and one in the next state. Then, I checked into adopting/rescuing from the Labrador Rescue group, but my gosh they make it hard too. You have to "make a donation" of $300, besides all the paperwork and home visitations. I have heard others say that they would just buy a puppy from a breeder for that cost.

I have a friend that got his son a kitty last summer, given to them by a neighbor. Thank goodness, Mario (kitty's name) is doing well, and his son is taking excellent care of him. His son now wants another kitty for Mario to have as a companion when everyone is off to school and work. My friend just told me last night that he checked with the humane society and they want $90 to adopt a kitty, so he is going to the local paper for a private owner that is giving one away. I tried to explain to him that the ones in the shelter are the most needy! The cost is what helps the Humane Society cover their expenses for spay/nueter, shots, medical treatments, etc. Unfortunately, he doesn't understand that, as I'm sure many other don't either.

Sorry I went off on all this....it just reminded me of how cruel many people can be, and how so many needy pets sit in shelters for years in need of a good home. This is hitting my own guilt, for being guilty of giving up on the shelters and getting my newest puppy, Brandy from a breeder instead. However, it really wasn't because of the cost to adopt, but more to do with the way I was treated by the volunteers there.

It is a very dark, evil and unfortunate soul that can harm a helpless little animal. As much as I hope to one day meet Claydon near the Rainbow Bridge - I hope that beforehand, somewhow, I also get to meet the one who sent him there.

I don't think anti-cruelty laws are harsh enough to punish him as he should be. I feel for the unborn baby..... What kind of life will he/she have, growing up with a father who would kill a dog and a mother who tolerates it? It really does make you sick....

I'm so sorry you had to witness the massacre of that poor duck. I had some ducks a couple years ago that were killed by coyotes. The remaining ducks pined and cried for them for weeks.

I'm also just devastated to hear about little Claydon. I don't understand humans sometimes. How can people be so mean to animals? If treated correctly, our furbabies promise us nothing but unconditional love.

It brings me some comfort in knowing that man and people like him will have to answer for their actions to a higher power someday.

Oh Pamela, I too am so sorry you had to witness the poor little duck being killed and his family/friends mourning him. And Claydon, OMG. How horrible! There's not much I can say that hasn't been said. Why in the world couldn't they have let Claydon go to that good home you found for him! It just doesn't make sense. I am so glad you reported them. There is something wrong with the guy and the woman too! Most laws certainly aren't tough enough to give people like that what they deserve, but maybe one day, because of people like you and the rest of us here, people will not take the cruelty to animals as lightly as they do now.
